Urban Decay’s NAKED FLUSHED Palette-Review & Demo!
If you watch my videos on YouTube, you would know I am beyond obsessed with the new (relatively new) face palette by UD-the NAKED FLUSHED. I’ve had this for about a month now and I have been using it relentlessly. I love everything in the NAKED line because they are perfect for every skin tone. I mainly wanted to do this demo because I wanted to show you how this palette would look on a darker skin complexion such as mine.
This is basically the case of the palette- in the video below I compare it to the NAKED BASICS eye palette just to show a comparison of the size. Essentially, I adore this packaging much more than the BASICS, even though it is slightly larger. But it’s really the beautiful bronze-gold colour of the palette as well as the striking gold letters of this palette that I am crazy about. It also is magnetic so it snaps shut without needing a clip or anything like that.
The inside has a gorgeous trio of a bronzer, highlighter and blush section. For me, I love that the bronzer is the largest part of the palette because as you know, I am addicted to bronzing and contouring my face. I know many people would prefer the blush being the largest section though, but it’s only smaller than the bronzer part by a little bit. OK I lied-it’s a lot bigger. But still. The highlighter is understandably the smallest section but it is surprisingly the most pigmented colour in this palette and I love it. Literally, when you apply it, it’s like the sun kissed you. I’m not even kidding. I think that this is also a great colour for your tear-duct region if you ever wanted to look more awake.
The one thing with this palette is that it doesn’t come with any brush so you would have to make sure and use your own brushes. In the video below you would see that I use:
- The Sigma F40 Large Angled Contour Brush to contour my cheekbones
- The Sigma F50 Duo Fibre Brush to apply blush to the apples of my cheeks (I normally use this brush for my foundation and I swear by it! But it always works amazingly for blush as well.)
- The Sigma E40 Tapered Blending Brush to apply the highlight right above my cheeks
[The brushes that I used were all part of my Make Me Blush Essential Kit by Sigma ]
[I should let you know that during the month of July 2013, you can get 10% off your purchase at Sigma with the follow coupon code ‘RNL2013’ so happy shopping! ]
